BRONTE ART GALLERY

Abstract Art by Amanda Hollingworth

Made in England  |  Grown in Canada
Bronte, Ontario

Mother, dreamer, dancer, artist, traveller, explorer, humanitarian, environmentalist, workaholic, animal lover, concert junkie, introvert by day, and extrovert by night.

Inspired by nature, adventure, and human connection. My current abstract series focuses on my own completely self-indulgent love of painting freely. I strongly believe in the connection between music and art, painting and dance.

This series involves a completely intuitive process, with many layers built over multiple painting sessions. Each piece starts with a colour palette and the emotion it evokes. I use either soft brush blending techniques or bold mixes with a palette knife, or a combination of both. I do not write about my specific inspiration or what I see in a painting. As the viewer the art becomes yours. I am simply a lover of the creative process.

Bio

b. Manchester, England. 1980
Lives and works in Bronte, Ontario.

Made in England. Grown in Canada.

Amanda designs commercial art by day. By night she can be found in her studio with the music on, painting and dancing. A formal education and foundation in art and design, allow her to apply these fundamentals in her work. Amanda’s initial love of art growing up, be it painting, illustration orphotography, led her to a career in graphic design, primarily creating consumer packaging. Designing for marketing purposes for the last two decades and always making her own art along the way. Amanda
has focused on her passion once again, coming full circle to what made her chose a creative career path in the first place. Putting brush to canvas (or palette knife, markers, mixed media, whatever the case may be) is Amanda's true artistic passion and outlet. She is a lifelong learner and lover of the creative process.
